Season of Summer!!!

Gosh this summer has been so busy for us so far, and its just the tip of the iceberg to boot! Well July is pretty tame we only have a couple of things going on but August, holy smokes we have something going on EVERY weekend and even in the mid-weeks too. Sheesh! We are excited though. Some fun things are Bear Lake, Sanpete (multiple times), Logan (multiple times), St. George (you guessed it, multiple times), Jackson/Yellowstone and just good ol' P-town, aka Provo. Ok that one doesn't count cause we live here BUT you get the point.

So the other week we went to our good friends, some of our most favorite people, the Barton's to have a farewell BBQ because they sniff sniff, are sniff sniff, moving sniff, to Denver wwwaaaaaaaa!!! We are super sad they are leaving, but super excited because they have a rockin job opportunity and of course that means we have a reason to go to Denver now!!! It was a blast and they asked me to take a few family pics of them to commemorate their last few weeks in Utah. Of course I was honored and agreed. Here are a few:

Adorable family

Like Mommy like baby!
Get a load of these CHEEKS!!! I cant. handle. them!!

Little Buddies. Except we missed Deja and Tay in there, BOO
Also the other week Lucy had the hardest day. First I was getting ready for church and she was just messing around as usual. I left for two seconds and came back just as she pulled down my flat iron and grabbed the plates!!! It was SO sad, and i felt like a horrible mother. Her little baby fingers instantly blistered really bad and she was so sad. I hurried to the store to grab some burn jell stuff and gauze to wrap her fingers in but she wouldn't keep it on. So we resorted to taping a mitten on her hand, she thought that was pretty cool. Not to mention she totally fell down the stairs at the Nixons house, and didnt get a nap. Poor BABY!!!

And here is a spaghetti shot for good measure
Oh ya I guess the biggest news as of yet is that Ty got a JOB!!!! Hooray!!!! I am so proud of him. Its the perfect job for him and for what he wants to do in the future. He is working with the Alumni department for the Family Home and Social Sciences school at BYU and he is the man in charge of this new program to reach out to Alum and current students and meld them together. We are SUPER excited!!!

LITTLE Lucy

Last week we spent the weekend in Logan. We went to help Bryce with the Health Days festival thing that he was in charge of and to get away. It hasnt been since January that we had been to Logan so we thought it was about HIGH time we get up there. Saturday we ran the 5k in Smithfield and it went pretty well. We all did really well. My mother-in-law killed us all in time though. Nice, a woman in her late 40's totally destroyed her children that are more than half her age. She was AWESOME!! I am proud to say I smashed my last time by almost 10 minutes!! But trust me, its not saying much, this girl that was about 15-20 yards ahead of me the whole time stopped and walked probably 10 times and i STILL never caught up to her, thats how slow I am. But it was fun and I am glad I did it.
Yesterday we had Lucy's well check visit. Ty took her in since I was at work and I get a text that Lucy is still only a WHOPPING 18 lbs!!! WHAT!!! She hasnt gained an ounce in 3 months. I felt like the worst mom ever!!! She is the tiniest, skinniest baby and I feel like its all my fault. She is less than the 5th percentile, and that is also for her adjusted age of 13 months instead of 15 months. Nice. I swear on everything we feed our child. She is just so picky and she NEVER stops moving to boot. But seriously I feel HORRIBLE!!! So immediately after work I went to wally world (I hate the orem wal-mart btw!!!) and stocked up on pediasure, avacados, olives to add to our 3 jars of peanut butter and other high fat food to hopefully sneak some weight on this little munchkin. I hate that the nurse said just to feed her icecream, cookies, french fries and any other horrible food. Like I am really going to stuff my childs face with junk food all day. Seriously? And we wonder why there is a HUGE epidemic of obesity in our country. But one thing I could NOT find was full fat yogurt. All they had was low-fat. Does anyone know where to get full-fat kind? What brand? Anyway, in my goal to LOSE ten pounds I am determined for Lucy to GAIN 10 pounds. Ok maybe not 10 for Luce, I'll settle for 5. Heck, Ill even take 1!!!!

Wow so much to blog about and so little time I swear!! This past month and this current month are SUPER busy for us but I like to feel busy and of course its the good busy where we get to do awesome things. For example, the last weekend in April I went to Women's Conference with the King girls and we also just hung out just us girls and did wedding stuff and ate a LOT of cupcakes. It was fun but after two days straight of 20,000+ women all together for 8 hours a day, I was exhausted!!! But it was great and lots of fun. Sorry no pics, Catherine has them all

Also today we just got back from the BEAUTIFUL St George!!! We were SO lucky to be able to go with the Kings to St George to celebrate a great family friends wedding and enjoy one of our favorite places also. Ty and I LOVE St George, we would move there in a second if we had a house, a job, and didnt have to worry about the 4 hour commute to BYU we would have to take. Oh man, we LOVE it. It was so nice to finally be in warm weather!!! We also experienced a new restaurant. Its called Anasazi and its INCREDIBLE!!! They sear your meat before they bring it to you but they bring it on a 700 degree rock that you continue to cook it on to your liking. It was SO good. All they season it with is salt, thats it, and it is SUCH good flavor, it needs nothing else. Not to mention the chocolate fondue we had for dessert!!! OH. MY.!!!!! They make it for you right at your table and they bring a platter with all kinds of fruit, pretzels, cheesecake, cream puffs, the WORKS. YOU HAVE TO GO!!! Did we mention we LOVE St. George!!!! I could go on, but I shall continue...

Next week we are going to Logan to help out Ty's brother put on this 5k race for his work. I am in NO shape to run 3 miles, but Im committed to not wuss out.

Then we just have other random stuff followed by a weekend in good ol Sanpete for Memorial Day. That is a special weekend for us. It was almost 3 years ago that my sister Holly passed away and FINALLY we have set a date to do her temple work, and its memorial weekend. Its about time!!! We are excited and truly feel it a blessing to do this.

Also last weekend we went and took some "Easter" pictures of Lucy and here are a few for your entertainment.

Good day

Today is a great day. Not only is it the beginning of one of my most favorite months of the year, but it was actually starting to warm up outside!! Also Ty had a meeting with a professor of the communications department at BYU and it went REALLY well. Turns out Ty got the assistantship that he applied for!!! I cannot tell you how glad we are for that!! SO BLESSED! He also learned that he was 1 of only TEN students that got accepted into BYU's program. HOLY SMOKES. Way to go hun!! Also this week we are heading down south to thoroughly enjoy the hot sun and some wedding bliss. What a good day!! But most of all today is a great day because 3 years ago today I married this handsome devil...

Wow 3 years... So much has happened. So much incredible, awesome, worrisome, heartbreaking, breathtaking, spiritual, stressful, beautiful memories we will have to share. I love my Tyler more than I could have ever imagined loving anyone. No one could be more perfect for me, than him.
I Love you sweetheart, forever and for always

Happenings

Gosh so much to catch up on!!

First off I am officially OVER a quarter of a century old. I cant believe it myself. Im still so young but I just think of how fast time goes by, pretty soon Im going to be a half century and not even realize!! My birthday fell on a Sunday so really I had a whole weekend celebration. Ty took me to the BYU ballroom dance show, totally awesome by the way, and we went out to eat and just hung out. We have a tradition where we make breakfast in bed for the special day but sadly, my day was fast Sunday so the french bread I bought specifically for my breakfast, didnt get used :(

Oh ya, this is BIG news!! Lucy FINALLY has some teeth!! Her two bottom ones are finally in, with no others in sight. They are so cute, her little teethies, they make me laugh. She is such a little girl now, not so much a baby. Just the things she does its just so grown-up and childlike. Like her little poses she does when she is watching something, its so funny it looks like a little girl trying to be ultra cool. She hasnt figured out the hand on the hip thing yet, thankfully, but Im sure its on its way. She is our little spitfire sassy pants. She still isnt really saying many real words yet but she jabbers ALL DAY LONG!!! She doesnt stop, ever. Its so funny!!

What else. Oh ya So i totally hit the jackpot this time of year. Poor Ty, first we have Valentines Day, then its my birthday, shortly followed by our anniversary AND Mothers Day!!! Boo-YA. Its pretty awesome.

New Day

Well friends today is a new day. Well everyday is a new day, but today, today is the beginning of a new life! Ok that is a little dramatic BUT I am proud to announce that today is the first day since the age of NINE that I have had ALL my teeth!!! Its true. When I was a little girl, for many reasons that I cannot remember i had to have 2 of my molars removed. Since then, I have had 2 HORRIBLE bridges that were glued on to the teeth on either side of the missing teeth and they would fall out a day after the dentist put them back in. This happened more times then I could count until finally i just left them out and had to go hillbilly style. It was annoying, embarrassing even though people couldnt see it, and just frustrating. Its been a long haul but finally I get to enjoy any food without worrying if it will ruin anything, and the peace of mind knowing that I am whole again!!! Ok, so I sound like those cheesy people on the Clear Choice commercials. But i am SSOOO happy about it!!! p.s i didnt do Clear Choice just fyi

So now that I have a full mouth of pearly white chompers, I am also proud to announce that my wonderful husband has gotten in to ALL of the grad schools he has applied!!! I dont mean to toot our horn, but remember one year ago when we were DENIED to ALL the schools he applied, and how we were so lost on what we were doing with our lives, and where do we go from here, and what do we do now, and starting all over from scratch and it was SUCH a leap of pure faith to completely revamp our future. Well, I certainly remember, and for that i WILL toot our horn!!! When we were deciding what on earth we were going to do with our lives I prayed so hard everyday that something will come up, that we can be lead to opportunities that will be good for our family, and less that a year later we figured out what we were to do. When we were applying to schools again these last few months I prayed again so hard that if this was the right path that maybe we could get into just one school, just to confirm the choice we made. Can I just tell you how wonderful it is to know that you are on the right path!!! Im so glad for Ty and how hard he has worked to get to where we are.

P.s. it looks like we will probably be staying in P-town a while longer as one of those schools is BYU and there is NO WAY Ty would give up returning to his dream school again!!!

p.p.s. Lucy is walking!!! Well she is mostly still hanging on to things and crawling BUT we can get her walk all over the house when we get her in a courageous mood that is. Once i figure out how to upload a video, i will prove it!!!
